Acute stress disorder

Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) is a condition that occurs in a person shortly after experiencing severe stress or trauma, such as an accident, loss of a loved one, violence, or disaster. It is the body’s reaction to a serious shock when the psyche does not have time to cope with the experience.

Symptoms of GAD include feelings of detachment, anxiety, flashbacks, difficulty concentrating, and even physical reactions such as heart palpitations. Often, a person avoids anything that reminds them of the trauma.

The GDR occurs because the brain does not have time to process the information received, and stressful memories remain “active”. It is important to know that this condition is temporary and can be overcome. If the symptoms persist, you should consult a psychologist or psychotherapist to avoid developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
